Driver Awareness and SAFED

Since Pembrokeshire Road Training was launced, the main incentive was to improve and develop driver training in Pembrokeshire. This has been a goal for not only new drivers but experienced drivers alike with a number of companies approaching us help develope the drivers they have and improve their skills and safety.

The safe and fuel efficient driving scheme (SAFED) has become a national standard backed by the department of transport for developing drivers skills to ensure road safety, creating awareness and developing drivers skills to drive more fuel efficiently ultimately creating a better driver and potentially saving your company money. A recent study suggested that by simply altering a drivers techniques and speed could potentially save a company in excess of £2500 per year.

We are now able to offer a full SAFED course which will be delivered by a qualified instructor, alternatively if you are just looking for an assessment and constructive advice for your drivers in developing their skills without the expence of SAFED then we too are able to delivere this service for you.

Each course will see an instructor visit your premises, complete an assessment drive before offering techniques which will imrpove each candidates drive followed by another assessment drive which will establish if the techniques taught have been taken on board. With our inhouse assessment you will also recieve a full writen report detailing key weaknesses, strengths and developement potential on every drive assessed.

With our inhouse assessment we also offer tachograph analysis for each driver. We have found that the best source of knowledge comes from tachograph analysis, this shows the true charector of each drivers techniques rather than just how a driver tries to demonstrate their skills while on an assessment drive. Again a full report is compiled and returned to your company for your information. If you dont require your drivers to complete the assessment drive then this service is available as a stand alone service.
