History of the Company
Pembrokeshire Road Training commenced training in 2004. The company was established with realistic ideas and a fresh approach to driver training. We are a market led company, providing our customers with the training they require for their chosen field of employment, or potential employment. In those four years it has become the principle driver training company in Pembrokeshire, serving customers in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Powys, as well as individuals and companies from further east in England. Joining forces with 2:Can School of Motoring in June 2008, Pembrokeshire Road Training is now able to offer a complete range of Road Training Courses from initial learner car courses, right the way up to LGV Category C+E articulated goods vehicles.
Our Aim
Training to pass the driving test alone does not produce a newly qualified driver who is readily employable. Our training approach is to develop your driving ability to its maximum potential. This will give you the foundation to develop your driving skills further. Driving standards must be maintained and improved with experience. Drivers, newly qualified and experienced, who do not continually strive to develop their individual skills are a potential accident waiting to happen. We believe quality of training at the point of delivery is the key to our success. Due to this approach, we have been able to place newly qualified, inexperienced drivers directly into employment, through our existing contacts within the haulage industry.
Test Pass Success
Our pass rate is continually at a higher percentage than the test centre average but we do not guarantee a first time driving test pass, no training company can, percentage pass rates can be manipulated to distort true first time pass rates. You the candidate, having received training, must be able to drive to the required standard at the time of completing your practical driving test. Candidates fail tests for many reasons, nerves, actions of other road users, a wrong judgement when under pressure, what appears to be a minor driving fault to you could have serious consequences.
Our Instructors
All of our instructors are highly qualified drivers in their own right, with years of practical and instructional experience. The founder of the company, as a former police advanced traffic department officer, saw first hand the injuries and deaths caused by drivers of all classes of vehicles. He organised safer driving events, these were later adopted as a benchmark by several county highways departments. A former driving assessor for an insurance company, delivering car, PCV, and LGV training programs which were the forerunner to driving courses which have now become known as SAFED, (Safe Fuel Efficient Driving). This sets the benchmark for the standard of instruction provided by the company. All instructors are carefully selected with the right credentials to continue the standards set to allow all candidates the potential development that the experience of these instructors can help them to achieve.
